Highlights
Chain-store sales continue to look solid, the latest evidence from ICSC-UBS which pegs week-to-week same-store sales growth in the July 5 week at 0.2 percent for the best year-on-year pace in two months of 2.3 percent. The report expects full month sales for June to rise 2 to 2.5 percent, which would be another strong showing that would make for solid quarterly results in the second quarter. Redbook is up next followed Thursday by reports from chain stores themselves.
